The Shocking Truth Behind Why 90% of Christian Musicians Are Limiting Their Own Growth

Christian musicians have a unique opportunity to connect with their fans in a deeper way than other music genres. Christian music has the ability to uplift and encourage, to bring peace and healing to listeners. However, the majority of Christian music artists are limiting their own growth, as well as the listening experience of their existing fans, by not sharing the story behind their songs and the lyrics to their music. Over 90% of Christian music artists do not share the story behind their songs or the lyrics on their websites or social media. This is a missed opportunity for both the artist and their fans. The story behind a song can give fans insight into the artist's inspiration and the meaning behind the lyrics. Sharing lyrics can allow fans to sing along and connect with the message of the song on a deeper level. I'm sure that you have listened to the radio. I do, and I especially love those programs where the presenter is also sharing interesting facts about a song. H

How To Monetize Your Lyrics For Additional Revenue

Lyrics are frequently overlooked as a revenue source (royalties). Here's a rough sketch of how you can benefit from song lyrics as a potential source of revenue. (or skip all of the backgrounds and go straight to our solution at the bottom of this page) What Kinds Of Royalties Are Earned With Song Lyrics? The short answer is mechanical royalties . Mechanical Royalties are generated through physical or digital reproduction (e.g. streams) and distribution of your copyrighted songs. This applies to all music formats old and new such as vinyl, CD, cassette, digital downloads, and streaming services. Record labels, streaming services, etc. pay a mechanical royalty every time they reproduce and sell a CD of the music, AND for each time lyrics are displayed. The long answer depends on how you’re sharing your royalties with the sources that license them. Generally speaking, your distributor or record label – i.e., the entity monetizing your recording – is responsible for passing your well

DIY - Getting Your Lyrics Displayed On Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, ...

Why would you want your lyrics to appear on as many services as possible? If the lyrics to a song are easily accessible, 88% of listeners will view them (e.g. by pressing an icon on a webpage or in an app) The addition of lyrics improves the listening experience. Listeners will be curious about what the artist is saying during live performances where artists are speaking / calling out to the audience (and are less audible). Law requires websites and services to pay royalties each time lyrics are displayed (songwriter royalties). With 88% of listeners viewing song lyrics, having your lyrics displayed on streaming services is a simple way to generate additional royalties! The process that is used to collect these royalties, also ensures that you receive royalties when your song is covered by another artist, when lyrics are used in books, sheet music, etc..   The steps to get your song lyrics on Spotify, Apple Music, etc. is relatively easy... and we have tools and guides to help you.
